Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality was established in 2007 as a joint venture between Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and MGM Resorts International. Leveraging the combined strength of the two parent company brands, this high-end hotel management platform focuses on developing luxury hotels and resorts, residences, retail facilities, and entertainment complexes, bringing a shared ethos of hospitality from China to the global stage.

Brands
- Currently, the group has six hotel brands and one residential brand: Diaoyutai, Bellagio by MGM, MGM, MGM Mirage, MGM Mhub, MGM MX, and Diaoyutai MGM Residences.
- Diaoyutai: It is a luxury hotel that showcases contemporary Chinese hospitality culture. It allows guests to experience the charm of Chinese hospitality and culture in a harmonious blend of the ancient and the modern, and the Chinese and the foreign.
- Bellagio by MGM: Inspired by the beautiful town of Bellagio on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy, it is known for its cordial, timeless, meticulous, and excellent service.
- MGM: As an internationally renowned entertainment destination brand, MGM hotels serve as vibrant calling cards and centers of enjoyment in their respective cities.
- MGM Mirage: Continuing the entertainment gene of MGM, it is a trendy and vibrant center in the city, offering modern and avant-garde “ways of staying”, healthy and organic “culinary ways”, stylish and private “ways of enjoyment”, creativity – inspiring “ways of communication”, and aesthetically – pleasing “ways of fitness”, catering to the “ways of self – realization” of urban elites.
- MGM Mhub: By creating multi – experience composite spaces, an art – inspiring atmosphere, and an open and interactive service culture, it provides young – minded travelers and local guests with flexible and diverse entertainment experiences.
- MGM MX: It maintains the individual characteristics, diverse themes, or historical deposits of independent hotels while sharing the global resources of Diaoyutai MGM, presenting guests with colorful and innovative travel and accommodation experiences.
- Diaoyutai MGM Residences: Engages in the brand residential business, and has entered many gateway cities such as Beijing, Haikou, and Sanya.
Development and Expansion
- The group has numerous hotels in operation across China. For example, MGM Grand Sanya opened in 2011, located in Yalong Bay National Resort. It offers Vegas – inspired dining, nightlife, and entertainment.
- Diaoyutai Boutique Hotel Chengdu opened in 2014. Situated in Kuanzhai Alley, a 300 – year – old urban – style building area, it combines the brand’s 800 – year – old history of exquisite imperial service.
- Bellagio by MGM Shanghai opened in 2018, boasting a panoramic view of the Bund and Lujiazui skyline. It is the second Bellagio hotel in the world, following its sister hotel in Las Vegas.
- MGM Shanghai West Bund opened in 2023. It is MGM’s first urban hotel on the Chinese mainland, located in the vibrant West Bund area of Shanghai, surrounded by cultural and art institutions, and close to many enterprises.
- Diaoyutai Hotel Qingdao and MGM Qingdao opened in 2023, located in the Shang Shi International Financial Center and the financial CBD of Laoshan District, Qingdao respectively.
- MGM Shenzhen opened in 2024, located in Xiaomeisha Seashore, known as the “Oriental Hawaii”, offering a combination of entertainment, cuisine, and beach – side weddings.
- The group also plans to open more hotels in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Lingshui, Wuhan, and other places in the future.
